Executive profile

I am a senior executive with over 25 years of experience in financial services, fintech, and technology. My career has spanned banking infrastructure, payments, digital transformation, and cross-border financial products across the United States, Europe, Latin America, and Southeast Asia.

I have led organizations through strategic inflection points: market entries, digital pivots, acquisitions, and regulatory transitions. I bring a practitioner's view to governance, combining operational depth with hands-on leadership experience.

Earlier in my career, I served on several boards across international banking advocacy, trade and commerce, and community business leadership, gaining a perspective on institutional governance that complements my executive experience. I have also participated as a personal investor in a range of businesses across fintech, telecom infrastructure, and hospitality.

Outside of work, I have completed eight Ironman triathlons. The discipline of long-distance endurance sport mirrors the way I approach complex problems: deliberate preparation, patience under pressure, and consistent execution over time.

Where I focus my thinking

After 25 years operating across markets and functions, these are the domains where I have developed the deepest conviction.

Go-to-Market in Financial Services

Building revenue engines in regulated industries requires understanding the interplay between product, compliance, and distribution. I have launched and scaled financial products across multiple jurisdictions, navigating both the commercial and regulatory dimensions of market entry.

Partnerships and Ecosystem Strategy

The most durable growth in fintech and payments comes from ecosystem positioning, not product differentiation alone. I have structured and managed complex partnership networks across banks, processors, and technology platforms, with a particular focus on cross-border and emerging market dynamics.

Payments Infrastructure

Payments is the substrate of financial services, and most of the interesting problems in fintech ultimately come back to rails, settlement, and interoperability. I have worked across card networks, real-time payment systems, and digital wallets, and I track how infrastructure shifts reshape competitive dynamics.

Past board experience

Earlier in my career, I served on boards spanning international banking advocacy, trade and commerce, and community business leadership across the US and Latin America.

Past President

FIBA

Elected President of the Financial and International Business Association, representing over 80 international banks conducting business between Florida and Latin America. Led regulatory advocacy and served as industry spokesman for the international banking community.

Past Treasurer

US-Spain Chamber of Commerce

Board Treasurer with responsibility for financial oversight and engagement across the transatlantic business community. Supported bilateral trade and investment facilitation between the US and Spain.

Past Audit Committee Member

Credito Inmobiliario

Independent board member and strategy advisor at a Mexican non-bank financial institution. Served on the Audit Committee with oversight of financial controls and reporting, and advised on US market strategy.

Past Board Member

Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce

Represented business community interests in one of the most dynamic US markets for Latin America-facing commerce and financial services.

Personal investing background

In addition to my executive career, I have participated as a personal investor in a range of private businesses. This experience has given me a firsthand perspective on early-stage growth, capital allocation, and operational risk that complements my work as an executive.

Fintech and Payments

Past personal investments in early-stage fintech companies across Latin America, with a focus on cross-border payments and financial inclusion. These investments deepened my understanding of founder dynamics and startup growth in emerging markets.

Telecom Infrastructure

Past personal investment in broadband connectivity infrastructure in Southeast Asia. Developed a conviction around last-mile infrastructure as a foundational enabler for digital financial services in underserved markets.

Real Assets and Hospitality

Past personal investment in hospitality and real asset-backed businesses in high-growth tourism markets. Broadened perspective on capital structure, operations, and value creation outside of financial services.
